In a recent press announcement by LTA, some parts of Bukit Brown will have to make way for the expansion of Lornie Road. We are a social group of interested persons dedicated to “Save Bukit Brown”. This group is lead by Raymond Goh co-founder of Asia Paranormal Investigators who has been conducting tours, discovering and documenting the tombs of our forefathers at Bukit Brown, also known as “kopi sua” dari dula kala. Some of the residents of Bukit Brown are Peranakans.

Artist-photographer Chris Yap Wooi-Hoe is the man behind The Peranakan Magazine’s cover photograph (Issue 3, 2011). He also created a series of five photographs exploring gender, symbolism and change in Peranakan culture. The work was exhibited at the NUS Baba House and at the Musée Quai Branly in Paris. A weekend where the members and friends of the participating associations will gather at the host’s city and talk about matters concerning perserving, and continuing the Peranakan culture and of course mingle, makan + joget.
