The Association collaborated with The Arts House to produce this video talk for their LumiNation festival.
Held alongside with National Day from 1-30 August, the festival explores our Singaporean identity through performances, talks and more.
Join Baba Peter Lee, independent researcher and scholar of Peranakan culture and history, and Honorary Curator at the NUS Baba House as he reveals how the lives of the Wee family (who once lived at 157 Neil Road) their neighbours and domestic staff, as well as the house’s contents, shed light on how migration contributed to the development of hybrid Peranakan culture.
The Arts House will release the video at this link and on their Facebook page on Sunday.
