Dear Nyonyas and Babas,
In this month’s video, I am joined by Nyonya Matilda Hong, Programme Manager of the National Museum of Singapore.
Nyonya Matilda excitedly shares about a purpose-built dedicated social space in the National Museum of Singapore, named Reunion. This is an inclusive space for seniors, including those with mild cognitive impairment and dementia, to engage in meaningful activities and conversations inspired by the museum’s collection.
Some highlights of Reunion: (a) Memory Lane is an immersive interactive experience for seniors to curate their own digital exhibition and send a copy of their completed exhibition to themselves as a souvenir; (b) Reunion’s music booths play familiar tunes from the 50s to 90s and of different genres; and (c) Reunion café serves senior-friendly food at special discounts. Visitors can choose to register for facilitated programmes or walk in to enjoy the space, free-and-easy. More details can be found at https://www.nhb.gov.sg/nationalmuseum/our-programmes/programmes-list/reunion-2023
For those joining us in Melaka for the 34th Baba Nyonya International Convention from 24-26 Nov 2023, there will be a pre-trip briefing at Rumah Kim Choo on 5 Nov at 2pm.
We hope you enjoy watching our video clips as much as we enjoy putting them together.
Warm wishes,
Nyonya Genevieve Peggy Jeffs
