Noreen is a 6th generation Singapore Peranakan (7th generation on her Melaka side) who made her debut in The Peranakan Magazine in 2000. After that she volunteered in TPAS Youth Group and as a contributor to the magazine’s Dalam Dapur (In the Kitchen) column. As custodian of her family’s collection of old stories and photographs, and her Mama’s handwritten recipes, she proudly celebrates her heritage every day. She hopes to preserve what is best about Peranakan culture and to work with others to evolve it for the future.
